Margot
Dukker
The
figurative, literary work of Margot Dukker-Groot, that mainly
exists out of pen drawings and oil paintings, can not be named
with a certain style. She mainly goes her own way with a scope
on the inside. On the one hand Margot shows her own fantasy
world in which dream and mystery are important aspects, on
the other hand she makes work from a more realistic context,
showing involvement with the world and her problems. Particulary
the flora and fauna, which are threatened by human activities.
Everyday we are confrontated with a lot of bad news, brought
to us by the media. The reaction on that can be found in a
couple of works she made. But a large amount of humour and
the ability to relativate can also be discovered in her work
by the spectator with an eye for detail.
Margot Dukker has been educated in teaching art and spent
a couple of years as anatomical illustrator in connection
with the anatomical laboratory of the university of Amsterdam.
There she got used to what lies under the skin and still experiences
mystery and beauty in what she saw as well.
Since 1975, Margot Dukker has been a member of the professional
artists guild named “Kunst Zij Ons Doel” (KZOD,
with which she did a fair amount of groupwise exhibitions).
